UWC Atlantic is the founding college of the UWC Movement, established in 1962, and is the only United World College in the UK. It provides a two-year, outdoor-orientated experiential education for students aged 16-19, focusing on deliberate diversity and global impact.

Programmes
The school offers the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). In 2023, it introduced the Systems Transformation Pathway: Leadership for Just Futures, a bespoke programme developed in partnership with the International Baccalaureate to equip students to address complex 21st-century global challenges.

Admissions
The school seeks outstanding students aged 16-19 from diverse socio-economic, religious, national, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Applicants apply through one of two routes: the Global Selection Programme (GSP) for those not requiring financial aid, or through one of the school's 150+ National Committees, which often provide full or partial scholarships to ensure socio-economic diversity. Prospective students cannot apply through both routes in the same year.
Calendar
The academic year is divided into three distinct terms. The calendar includes four scheduled breaks: October, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Students are expected to maintain full attendance during all published term dates.
Facilities
About the campus
The campus is located at the 12th-century St Donat’s Castle in South Wales, set within 122 acres of woodland and farmland that includes a private valley and seafront. Notable facilities include the Agatha Christie Library, which has undergone significant structural and technological refurbishment, and the Moondance Sports Hall. The campus also features dedicated student housing, such as the Kurt Hahn House and Antonin Besse House.
Co-curriculars
The school employs a 'no-limits' approach that integrates curricular and co-curricular activities, including the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programme. Specific initiatives include Project Week, the GoMakeADifference programme, the Prentis Curriculum, Lighthouse Programmes, and various student-led conferences. Historically, the school has also been known for its maritime rescue heritage, including the development of the Inshore Lifeboat Service and the Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RIB).






Naheed BardaiPrincipalNaheed Bardai is the current Principal of UWC Atlantic, having been appointed in mid-July 2021. Prior to this role, he served as Head of the Upper School at Upper Canada College in Toronto and as Principal of the Senior School at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa, Kenya. He is recognized for his passion for educational innovation and his commitment to the UWC mission of fostering peace and sustainability.

Dr. Khalid El-Metaal has been appointed as the next Principal of UWC Atlantic, scheduled to take up the role in July 2027. He currently serves as the Rettore (Head) of UWC Adriatic and brings over 30 years of experience in international education. He holds an EdD from the University of Bath and is fluent in English, French, Arabic, and Italian.
