The American International School Vienna

The academic program follows the American system with an international perspective, serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Elementary and Middle School curricula focus on a unified body of knowledge and skills, while the High School offers a college-preparatory curriculum leading to a US High School Diploma, with the option to pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools.

The application process requires a non-refundable application fee, and enrollment is secured upon payment of a deposit and applicable one-time fees.

The school operates on a standard academic year, with the 2025-2026 school year concluding in June. Current students, parents, and staff access detailed community event calendars through the secure Veracross portal (myAISV). Administrative office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The 11-acre campus is located near the Vienna Woods and features separate wings for Elementary, Middle, and High School students within an interconnected building. Key facilities include a renovated theater, seven science labs, a cafeteria, and the Mike Maloy Gym for assemblies and sports. Outdoor amenities include a sports field with soccer and softball facilities, an enclosed Fun Court, an outdoor classroom, and a dedicated Elementary School playground.

Students have access to a wide range of clubs and activities, including the Amnesty Youth club, Robotics, Chess, Dance, and various student unions. Middle and High School students may join existing clubs or create their own, with opportunities for student leadership through the Student Council and Athletic Council. The school also offers competitive sports, performing arts, and service-learning initiatives like the Knights of Service and the Habitat Global Builders.
