Village School

The school's mission is to educate upstanding, capable, and sensible leaders who participate in global development. Its methodology is based on Developmental Neuropsychology and an innovative curriculum designed to foster each child's potential. The school emphasizes four main pillars: leadership, academic excellence, strong human values, and athletic excellence.

The school offers a comprehensive academic programme spanning from CTE/Neurokidz (Group 2 to K3) through Elementary (1st-4th grade), Middle School (5th-8th grade), and High School (9th-12th grade). The curriculum aligns with international and national standards, including US Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, C3 Social Studies Framework, and the Common European Framework of Reference. Instruction is supported by formative and summative assessments such as MAP, TOEFL, SAT, and PAA.

Village School has graduated over 1,200 students since 1993 and is ranked among the top five schools in Guatemala based on Ministry of Education evaluations. Graduates are prepared for national and international universities, with students achieving high proficiency in English and choosing a third language from German, French, or Mandarin. The school is accredited by Cognia.

The school evaluates students with learning difficulties using a specific admission policy for those with special learning needs. The institution aims to provide a supportive environment that recognizes individual differences and unique abilities.

The school year begins in August, and applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are currently open. The admission process involves an online application, an interview and tour, and an admission test. Priority is given to alumni children, students from the school's preschool, and siblings of currently enrolled students. Applicants must provide previous report cards, conduct records, and health documentation.

The school year follows an August start date. The academic calendar includes holiday breaks, such as the Christmas and New Year period, and various school-wide events throughout the year.

The school operates across two campuses, with Campus I located on Carretera a El Salvador and Campus II in Zone 14. Facilities include sports fields, a greenhouse, playgrounds, and library services. The school also provides access to virtual libraries to support student learning.

Students participate in a variety of sports, including baseball, basketball, track and field, volleyball, soccer, and roller hockey. The school also emphasizes leadership and service, hosting events like the AASCA Leadership and Service Experience and participating in regional student tournaments such as CODICADER. Additional opportunities include the National Junior Honor Society and Destination Imagination.
