Zayed College for Girls

Zayed College for Girls is a state-integrated special character Islamic secondary school that aims to provide a nurturing environment where students develop a beautiful character and achieve academic excellence. Its mission is to facilitate the development of a mature commitment to Islamic beliefs and practices, guided by the Quran and Sunnah, while fostering valued citizenship. The school is grounded in four core values: Kindness, Appreciation, Respect, and Equity (KARE).

The school delivers the New Zealand Curriculum across Years 7–13, incorporating mandatory Religious Studies and Arabic language classes. The Middle School (Years 7–10) follows a core programme including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Health & Physical Education, Technology, and The Arts, alongside Islamic and Qur’an studies. In the Senior Years (11–13), students pursue pathways toward tertiary education or vocational goals, with the opportunity to earn NCEA credits through Islamic Studies assessments at Levels 1, 2, and 3.

The school reports that its NCEA results consistently sit above the national average. Students are prepared for pathways leading to tertiary study, vocational qualifications, or employment.

The school provides additional support programmes for students where relevant, including English as a Second Language (ESOL) and a Gifted & Talented programme. A school counsellor is also available as part of the staff.

Enrolment is open for the school, with information and pre-enrolment forms available through the school's website. The school charges compulsory annual attendance dues of $300 per student, which are collected by the proprietors to be used exclusively for the improvement of school buildings and facilities.

The school operates on a term-based system, with Term 3 typically commencing in late July. The school day runs from Monday to Friday, with office hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Daily finishing times are 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 2:30 pm on Fridays.

Located in Mangere, Auckland, the campus is accessed via a private road and features an entrance archway designed in an Islamic architectural style. The grounds include a private courtyard, a gymnasium, and an indoor swimming pool, both of which open onto the courtyard via bi-fold doors. The main building includes a student atrium with a glassed-in seating area and a lift providing access to a mezzanine floor.

While the school has previously participated in events such as the Girls Futsal Festival, it does not currently offer a formal programme of after-school activities, training sessions, or extra-curricular clubs. Any future activities will be communicated to parents and caregivers via official notices or permission letters.
