Alaska Academy is a bilingual educational system in Hanoi, comprising an international preschool and an international primary school. It offers a unique blend of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training curriculum and an English-based program utilizing American textbooks.

Teaching approach

Guided by the principle "Together we go far," the school aims to cultivate an open, sustainable educational environment that prioritizes effectiveness, collaboration, and critical thinking. It seeks to nurture students who are independent, happy, and compassionate, while fostering a strong "Reading Culture" and a drive for excellence. The school emphasizes the importance of innovation and creativity, encouraging students to be active participants in their learning journey rather than passive recipients of knowledge.

Programmes

The academic program is divided equally between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) curriculum and an English-based curriculum. The English program incorporates American textbooks, focusing on Language Arts, Mathematics (Envision Maths), and Science, alongside the Cambridge Program using the Collins International Primary series. Additionally, the school offers a specialized Mathematics program developed by Prof. Dr. Le Anh Vinh and a Language-EQ program. Starting in grades 2 through 5, students also engage with the Level Up Through Digital Discoveries Curriculum (ICT Program), which covers topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cybersecurity.

Outcomes

Students at Alaska Academy are encouraged to become autonomous, happy, and creative thinkers with strong critical thinking skills. The school reports high levels of student achievement, including success in international competitions such as the IKLC and IKSC, where students have earned gold medals. Graduates are prepared to engage with a diverse, open world of intellectual pursuits, supported by a curriculum that emphasizes both English and Vietnamese proficiency.
