Apple Valley International School

Apple Valley International School is a value-based institution founded in 2021 with a mission to provide a holistic, state-of-the-art educational experience. It aims to nurture "future shapers" who demonstrate leadership, high ethical standards, and civic engagement, moving beyond exam-obsessed education toward character formation, creativity, teamwork, and gratitude. The school also provides free education to selected pupils from the local community through its Heritage Scholars programme.

The academic programme combines the English National and Cambridge Assessment and International Education curricula. The school serves students across several divisions: Preschool (ages 2–4), Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2, ages 5–6), Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6, ages 7–10), and Lower Secondary (Years 7–9, ages 11–13). Future curriculum developments include courses on resilience, creative problem-solving, public speaking, and critical thinking.

The school employs targeted learning approaches to ensure all pupils achieve curriculum objectives, catering to both high and low achievers. It maintains an inclusive environment that supports individual learning paths and provides pastoral care to nurture student development.

The school accepts applications for pupils up to 30 August of the year they reach the required age for their specific class. The admissions process evaluates current and potential academic ability alongside character, with pupils from Key Stage 2 onwards required to sit the AVIS Common Pre-Tests (ACPT). Additionally, the school requests a report from the applicant's previous Head Teacher covering academic strengths, interests, and character.

The school operates Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 15:00, with additional hours on Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00. Admissions deadlines for entry are strictly set for 30 August.

The campus features technology-enabled classrooms, libraries, and laboratories, including dedicated spaces for science, ICT, and language studies. The building design incorporates communal discussion zones outside of classrooms to facilitate social interaction and informal discourse. The school leverages modern technology to support teaching, learning, and problem-solving.

The school offers a variety of co-curricular programmes designed to foster leadership, ethical standards, and civic engagement. Activities include sports for health and well-being, music for self-expression, drama for teamwork, art for creativity, and public speaking to improve communication skills and confidence.
