The International School of Latvia (ISL) is an independent, non-profit, coeducational day school founded in 1994 that serves over 400 students from more than 40 nationalities. It is the only school in Latvia to offer the full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum for students aged 2 to 18.

Teaching approach

Programmes

ISL is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 3–12, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11–16, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for ages 16–19. The secondary school curriculum for grades 9–12 is a college preparatory programme leading to either the IB Diploma or the ISL Diploma.

The school is a college preparatory institution, with 100% of graduates receiving four-year college acceptance. Students participate in the IB Diploma Programme, consistently achieving results that exceed worldwide averages, with many students earning high scores and bilingual diplomas.

About the campus

The purpose-built campus, originally constructed in 2010 and expanded in 2019, covers a building area of 8,183 m2 set within 15,311 m2 of grounds. Facilities include modern classrooms with digital technology, science labs, design technology rooms, a language center, a media center, a learning support center, a multifunctional sports gym, an artistic auditorium, and a dining hall. The campus also features extensive outdoor sports grounds, a large playground, and an interactive "Maker Space" for high school students.

Co-curriculars

The school provides an integrated curriculum that includes athletics, arts, and a variety of after-school activities. Additionally, it offers a summer camp programme to engage students beyond the standard academic year.
