The school provides a continuous education from Nursery through to Sixth Form. The Key Stage 3 curriculum includes English, Mathematics, Science, Music, Art, Drama, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Computing, and Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), with Latin offered as an enrichment option. The GCSE programme includes core subjects and a range of options such as Fine Art, Textiles, Computer Science, and Physical Education. The Sixth Form offers a wide selection of A-Level and BTEC subjects, including Criminology and Forensics, Economics, Psychology, and Further Maths, alongside the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

The majority of school leavers progress to their first-choice destinations, including university, apprenticeships, or employment. Approximately 30% of Sixth Form students go on to Russell Group universities, with about 10% securing places at Oxford or Cambridge. The school also reports high achievement in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with 85% of the 2025 cohort achieving A* and A grades.

The school maintains small class sizes and provides close monitoring of pupil progress through academic and pastoral mentors to ensure all students reach their full potential. Battle Abbey School is a non-selective, mixed-ability school that welcomes applications from UK and international families at any stage of a child's education, with formal entry points at Reception, Year 7, Year 9, and Year 12. The admissions process involves an individual assessment, a review of school reports, a reference from the current school, and an interview with the Senior Leadership Team. The school offers scholarships in academic subjects, Music, Drama, Performing Arts, Art, Sport, and Computing, as well as bursarial support assessed by an independent third party. Prospective families are encouraged to attend Open Days or arrange personal visits and taster days to experience the school community.

The school operates an annual video advent calendar during the festive season. Term dates are available upon request through the admissions office.

The school operates across two main sites in East Sussex. The Prep School and Nursery in Bexhill feature spacious grounds, gardens, playing fields, and access to nearby swimming facilities. The Senior School is located on the historic site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, utilizing the Abbot’s Hall and surrounding buildings, with a dedicated Sixth Form centre at Martlet House. Boarding is provided at Leeford Lodge, a 15-acre site near the village of Whatlington. Additional facilities include an Art block, a Performing Arts Centre, and a gym.
