The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum from Reception through to the Sixth Form. In the Junior School, pupils receive specialist teaching in subjects including Spanish, Music, Drama, PE, Art, Design & Technology, and French (from Year 3). The Senior School and Sixth Form offer a challenging academic pathway, supported by innovative technology and research-based teaching methods. Homework is integrated from an early age, with project-based tasks introduced in Key Stage 2.

Channing School reports high academic achievement, with 94.2% of A Level grades at A*-B and 81.2% of GCSE grades at 9-7. The school maintains a strong record of university destinations and courses for its leavers. It has been rated "Excellent in all areas" in its 2022 ISI Inspection Report.

The school provides tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs through a dedicated Learning Support team, ensuring they can access the full curriculum. For students joining from homes where English is not the primary language, the school offers English as an Additional Language (EAL) support, allowing teachers to adapt lessons to facilitate full integration.

Channing School has three primary entry points: 4+ (Reception) for the Junior School, 11+ (Year 7) for the Senior School, and 16+ (Year 12) for the Sixth Form. Admissions are supported by Open Days held in the Summer and Autumn terms, and "Chance Vacancies" may occasionally arise for other year groups. A non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance of a place, with specific amounts set at £5,000 for standard entry and £7,000 for the Sixth Form.

The school operates on an Autumn, Spring, and Summer term structure. The 2025/26 academic year includes an Autumn term from early September to mid-December, a Spring term from early January to late March, and a Summer term from mid-April to early July. The calendar includes scheduled half-term breaks and inset days for staff training.

The campus is located in Highgate, North London, and features a 243-seat state-of-the-art theatre and a purpose-built Sixth Form centre. Junior School pupils have access to Forest School facilities, while the broader school environment supports a variety of academic and creative pursuits. The school is situated within a nine-minute walk of Archway and Highgate underground stations.

The school offers over 200 extra-curricular clubs and societies, alongside a wide range of sports. Students participate in regular workshops, educational visits, and residential trips from Year 3 through Year 6. The programme includes opportunities such as LAMDA lessons, music tuition, and inter-school events like the Morning of Dance, as well as enrichment weeks that may involve international travel.
