Programmes

The College provides a continuous educational pathway from Pre-school to Year 13, following the New Zealand curriculum and NCEA assessment framework. The academic programme is supported by specialist teachers and includes extension opportunities in literacy, numeracy, and various subject-specific challenges. The Senior College (Years 12–13) focuses on fostering independence and preparing students for tertiary study and beyond.

Outcomes

In 2025, the College achieved strong NCEA results, with 98.2% of students gaining Level 1, 100% gaining Level 2, and 98.1% gaining Level 3. Additionally, 92.9% of students achieved University Entrance, and 64 NZQA Scholarships were awarded. Students are frequently recognised in academic competitions such as ICAS, Future Problem Solving, and various Olympiads.

The College prioritises well-being through a whole-school approach, supported by pastoral care networks and trusted relationships. An onsite Health Centre, staffed by a Registered Nurse during school hours, provides support for illness and injury, with additional access to counselling and physiotherapy services. Admissions

The College offers tours of the Preparatory and Secondary school campuses year-round during term time, which can be booked via the school's online system. Prospective families must submit an application for enrolment accompanied by a $200 non-refundable fee. Upon acceptance of a place, a $500 non-refundable acceptance fee and a $1,500 refundable bond are required.

Calendar

The school year is divided into four terms. In 2026, Term 1 begins on 28 January for Years 1–9 and 29 January for Years 10–13, concluding on 2 April. Subsequent terms run from 28 April–26 June, 20 July–25 September, and 12 October–4 December (with earlier finishes for senior students). The College observes standard New Zealand public holidays and includes specific term breaks throughout the year.

About the campus

The 13-hectare Christchurch campus features modern facilities including the Ngā Toi Performing Arts Centre (with the Gough Family Theatre), the Green Library and Innovation Centre, and the Spiro Science and Mathematics Centre. Sports facilities include two gymnasiums, the StACFit Fitness Centre, multiple sports fields, and hockey turfs. The campus also houses three boarding houses, the Centennial Chapel, a professional television and digital media studio, and the Askin Pipe Band Centre.

Co-curriculars

Students participate in a wide range of activities beyond the classroom, including sports, performing arts, outdoor education, leadership, and service. The College offers over 25 music groups, a robust robotics programme, and a Pipe Band. Students are encouraged to engage in community service, with Senior College students completing hours toward service awards, and opportunities exist for international service trips to destinations like Cambodia.
