DePaul College Prep

DePaul College Prep is a Catholic, co-educational school guided by Vincentian values. Its mission is to create an educated, compassionate, and just world, one student at a time. The school emphasizes core values of faith, respect, excellence, and service.

The school offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum across departments including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Theology, World Languages, STEAM & Arts, and Physical Education. It is an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Additionally, the school provides counseling, college planning services, and summer dual enrollment opportunities at DePaul University.

The school provides curricular support for students with diagnosed learning differences, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, or private evaluations. Learning specialists offer targeted support in reading comprehension, written expression, math, and executive functioning, both inside and outside the classroom. They also manage classroom and testing accommodations and help students develop success attributes such as self-awareness and goal setting.

The admissions process for prospective students includes an online application, submission of standardized test scores, and academic records from the previous three years. Applicants must also register for and complete the school's Entrance Exam, which is a key component of the admissions criteria. The school hosts open houses and shadow days to allow families to experience the campus environment firsthand.

The school operates on a block schedule. The academic year typically includes key milestones such as entrance exam registration in November, the entrance exam in December, and tuition payment cycles running from July through April.

The campus is located in Chicago and is currently undergoing the construction of a $32 million indoor athletic complex. This new facility will feature a multi-sport field house, competition gym, indoor track, strength and weight training facility, wrestling room, cardio equipment, and locker rooms. The campus also includes a dining hall and utilizes technology resources to support the academic program.

Approximately 80% of the student body participates in athletics and extracurricular activities. The school offers 29 different sports and various clubs and student organizations, including honor societies. Students also engage in experiential learning trips and service opportunities, contributing over 21,000 hours of service to the Chicago community in the 2024-2025 school year.
