Steinmetz College Prep High School

The school’s vision centers on fostering natural curiosity and inquiry skills, enabling students to research, design, and communicate creative solutions to real-world problems. Its mission emphasizes six core values: strength, talent, resilience, empowerment, ambition, and knowledge, all aimed at developing compassionate and productive global citizens.

The academic programme is built upon a STEAM framework and includes an International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, a JROTC Academy, and a bilingual programme. The curriculum is delivered through various departments, including Science, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, World Languages, Fine Arts, and Computer Science & CTE.

The school reports that 96% of its graduates are college-bound. Students have collectively earned $8 million in college scholarships.

The school maintains a Diverse Learner Department staffed by numerous teachers and classroom assistants to support students with varied needs. Additionally, the school provides counseling services, including a dedicated connectedness and wellness counselor, as well as MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and reading intervention services.

Registration is conducted daily, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Families must provide a photo ID, two proofs of address, and a birth certificate to complete the process. Students entering grades 10–12 are required to submit an official transcript to facilitate course selection.

The school operates on the CPS 2025-2026 calendar. Specific registration dates for incoming freshmen are scheduled for May 19, May 26, and June 1, with sessions running from 3:10 p.m. to 6:10 p.m.

Located at 3030 North Mobile Ave., the campus includes specialized spaces for its academic and extracurricular programmes. These facilities support a range of activities, including band and music instruction, drama, and various athletic pursuits.

The school offers over 30 clubs and after-school activities to engage students. Athletic opportunities include more than 25 teams, such as baseball, football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, softball, badminton, bowling, and esports.
