American Academy for Girls

The school follows the New York State Education Department (NYSED) standards and the Common Core curriculum. The academic pathway spans from an Early Childhood Program—which utilizes a theme-based approach emphasizing socialization and inquiry—through to High School. The curriculum integrates technology throughout all subjects, supported by the school's status as an Apple™ Light House School and a Microsoft Showcase School. Arabic and Islamic studies are core components of the academic offering.

Students are prepared for success in college, career, and life, with many graduates pursuing studies in medicine, engineering, and veterinary science at universities. Multidisciplinary teams, led by Heads of Inclusion for primary and secondary levels, design and implement individualized learning plans, accommodations, and differentiated strategies to ensure equitable access to the curriculum. The school actively supports students of determination to participate in the learning process and build relationships with their peers.

The admissions process is managed by a dedicated team that guides families through the transition. Applications for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are treated equally and reviewed by senior leaders and the school’s Inclusion Champion to determine how to best meet the child's needs. All students entering Grade 2 and above must provide a Transfer Certificate, and specific attestation requirements apply based on the country of origin.

The school provides a full calendar on its website, which includes term dates and scheduled open days. Families can subscribe to the calendar via iCal or sync it with Google and iOS platforms.

The campus features modern facilities including ICT suites, science laboratories, music rooms, two libraries, art studios, and a pottery room. Sports amenities consist of a multi-purpose sports hall, a large outdoor sports field, and a shaded outdoor swimming pool. The school also provides a kindergarten playroom, a shaded outdoor playground, a cafeteria, and an innovation hub, with wireless internet access throughout the site.

The school offers a range of extra-curricular activities (ECAs) designed to complement the academic curriculum. Students from 4th grade onwards have the opportunity to participate in travel programs, with recent destinations including Oman, England, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
