Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre

Established in 1994, the centre is a non-profit, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the empowerment, employment, and integration of students of determination. It operates on the belief that every individual possesses a soul that is equal and worthy of boundless love. The centre strives to create an inclusive, non-judgmental environment that supports the specific needs of each student and their family.

The centre offers a structured educational programme for Early Years, Middle School, and Senior School students. The Early Years curriculum is based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on prime areas such as personal, social, and emotional development, communication, and physical development, alongside specific areas like literacy and mathematics. The academic programme is highly differentiated to meet the unique cognitive and physical needs of each student.

The centre provides comprehensive therapeutic and educational support services, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech and language therapy. A dedicated behaviour support department analyzes stimuli for undesirable behaviours to develop intervention strategies and provides family counselling. Additionally, the centre utilizes assistive technology and offers conductive education and early childhood therapy programmes.

Parents interested in enrolling a child are invited to contact the Education Administration to schedule a visit and tour of the centre. Admission is open to students aged 4 to 18 years who have physical, cognitive, or sensory processing challenges. An initial assessment is required prior to placement, followed by a one-month baseline assessment period to determine individual strengths and needs, which informs the student's Individual Education Plan or Individual Training Plan.

The academic year typically runs from late August or early September through late June. The calendar includes three terms: an Autumn Term (September to December), a Spring Term (January to March), and a Summer Term (April to June). Mid-term breaks are scheduled in October and February, and the centre observes public and religious holidays as announced by the Ministry.

Located in Al Barsha 1, behind the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, the campus features specialized facilities to support students of determination. These include a sensory play area, a motion drama facility, a student library, a research library, and a smart unit. The centre also provides an orthotics clinic and dedicated spaces for therapeutic services.

Students participate in a variety of activities designed to foster social engagement and skill development. These include music, art, swimming and aquatic therapy, and photography. The centre also provides vocational training through workshops in carpentry, printing, gardening, textiles, and baking, and operates a student tuck shop and a heritage room.
