Founded in 1974, the school operates on a non-profit basis and is managed by an association of parents. The school follows the French national curriculum from kindergarten (maternelle) through middle school (collège), leading toward the French Baccalaureate. The academic year typically runs from late August to early July, divided into five periods separated by holiday breaks. The 2025–2026 school year begins for students on August 29, 2025, following staff induction days. The calendar includes various public holidays observed in Mauritius.

Located on a 49,943 m² site in Mapou, the campus features 75 classrooms, science laboratories, two libraries, and a recording studio. Sports facilities include a gymnasium, a football pitch with two designated areas, two basketball courts, a handball court, and multiple outdoor play areas. The school also provides canteen services, nap rooms for younger students, and state-of-the-art digital technology rooms.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities (AES) to support student development. The programme includes projects, performances, choirs, school trips, exhibitions, residential visits, and various sporting competitions across all year groups.
