English Gate School

English Gate School aims to prepare students to be global citizens capable of shaping the future. It employs an 'Open Source' international curriculum that integrates elements from various methodologies, including the International Baccalaureate (IB), Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and the 'school of emotions.' The school emphasizes the development of natural bilingualism and values both the English language and Italian culture.

The school provides a bilingual educational path spanning from nursery (9 to 36 months) through kindergarten (3 to 5 years), primary school (6 to 10 years), and first-grade secondary school (11 to 13 years). The curriculum is bilingual, with English instruction provided by native speakers and a strong emphasis on the Italian Ministerial Program. Specialist teachers are employed for subjects such as Music and Physical Education in the primary years.

The school provides personalized support plans for students in Primary and Middle school if the initial admission assessment identifies areas that require strengthening. Teachers are available to provide ongoing support, orientation, and consultancy to families to ensure a serene and effective educational path.

The admission process begins with an introductory interview to present the school's educational approach and assess alignment with family expectations. Following an availability check, prospective students may participate in a 'Stay&Play' or 'Stay&Learn' experience. For Primary and Middle school applicants, an admission test in English, Mathematics, and Italian is required to identify areas for potential support. Enrollment is formalized upon submission of the required forms and payment of the registration fee.

The school operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00. While most students join at the start of the academic year in September, the school accepts new students throughout the year, provided places are available.

Located in Cantù, the campus features age-appropriate, safe environments for nursery and kindergarten students. Primary and Middle school classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards to facilitate interactive learning. The school includes an internal canteen with a dedicated kitchen, a large shaded green area for outdoor education and play, and a 2025-inaugurated multi-sport field with shock-absorbing flooring and regulation baskets.

The school offers a range of extra-curricular activities, referred to as 'Extraclubs,' designed to stimulate creativity, experimentation, and the development of individual talents and passions. Additionally, the school provides pre- and after-school care, a summer camp, and specific initiatives such as a Reading Club and a multisport project.
