English School Los Olivos

Founded in 1976 and run as a teacher cooperative, the school provides a secular and pluralist education that embraces British, Spanish, and Valencian cultures. Its educational approach is rooted in values of responsibility, dialogue, mutual respect, tolerance, and freedom. The school focuses on the individual development of each child to help them become socially, culturally, and environmentally aware citizens.

The school offers a bilingual education covering Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Primary (Key Stages 1 and 2), Secondary (Key Stage 3 and 4), and Sixth Form (Key Stage 5). While the British National Curriculum is the core, students also study compulsory Spanish subjects including Spanish Language, Literature, History, Geography, and Valencian. In the final years, students follow pathways leading to IGCSE, AS, and A Level qualifications.

Students sit for internationally recognised IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations. The school also provides preparation for Spanish university entrance examinations, and all qualifications are recognised in both the United Kingdom and Spain.

The school accepts students from age three to eighteen, with enrolment currently open for Nursery classes. Prospective families may initiate the process through a pre-enrolment form, telephone inquiry, or email, with placement in other year groups subject to availability. The school requires an enrolment fee, which covers the period of compulsory education from Nursery through Year 11, and offers discounts for second and third children.

The school operates a standard academic year with classes held from September to June. The calendar includes various school life events such as graduations, sports days, summer fairs, and educational excursions. Additionally, the school offers a Summer School programme.

The school operates across two sites in Campo Olivar-Godella, Valencia: a Primary campus and a Secondary campus. Facilities include classrooms, dining rooms with kitchens, outdoor play areas, communal spaces, and dedicated sports areas. The school also provides transport services and morning and afternoon clubs.

Students participate in a variety of activities designed to complement classroom learning and foster personal development. These include educational trips, camping trips, a summer concert, sports days, and themed days. Students also engage in cultural visits to art galleries and exhibitions, such as those at the IVAM and the Centre del Carme.
