Admissions

About the campus

Located on a 104-acre campus in Hertfordshire shared with Habs Boys, the school features extensive green-belt grounds, playing fields, woodland, and nature spaces like a Forest School and Wildflower Walkway. Indoor facilities include a sports hall, senior gym, indoor swimming pool, fitness suite, dance/aerobics studio, and multiple outdoor courts and pitches. Performing arts spaces include the Sime Music Hall and two drama studios, one of which is a purpose-built black-box studio. The campus also houses a dining hall, café, and faith rooms.

Co-curriculars

The school provides a wide-ranging co-curricular programme designed to foster teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. Offerings include the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) with Royal Navy, Army, and RAF sections, and a Friday Activities Block for students in Year 10 to Upper Sixth. Additional activities include music ensembles, drama productions, sports, robotics, debating, and an extensive Outdoor Education programme featuring allotment gardening, camp-craft, and various adventure sports.

    Dr Hazel Bagworth-Mann joined Habs in 2023, bringing a commitment to outstanding teaching and classroom learning. She holds a PhD in History and previously held senior roles at North London Collegiate School, including Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Interim Headmistress.

  • Gus LockExecutive Principal

    Gus Lock was appointed Executive Principal in 2023, having joined Habs in 2018. He holds an MA in Ancient and Modern History from the University of Oxford and is focused on creating two outstanding single-sex schools on one co-educational campus.

  • Tim ScottDeputy Head (Operations)

    Tim Scott has been Deputy Head since 2022, having joined Habs in 2008 as a music teacher. He holds a master's degree in Music from the University of Cambridge and has previously served as Assistant Head focusing on admissions, marketing and alumnae relations.

  • Claire BrownHead of Junior School and DSL

    Claire Brown studied Environmental Science at Newcastle University before completing a PGCE. As Head of Junior School and DSL, she is focused on enhancing the curriculum and ensuring every child achieves their potential.

    Andrew Simm joined Habs in 2004 as a music teacher and has since held roles including Housemaster of Hendersons. As Director of Co-curricular, he oversees more than 200 school trips and excursions each year.

    Megan Hall joined Habs Girls in 2019 and holds a BSc in Management from the University of St Andrews and an MA in Leadership from the Institute of Education, London. She is focused on creating an educational environment that fosters excellence and innovation.

    Camilla Milsom joined Habs in 2020 as Assistant Head (Pastoral) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. As of 2025, she serves as Assistant Head, Head of Sixth Form.
