Habib Public School aims to be a 'Center of Excellence' that nurtures the academic, physical, and personal development of students to become proud, patriotic citizens. The school offers education from Class 1 through O Levels, with students choosing between the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) or the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) pathways starting from Class 8. The institution also operates the Habib Public High School for Intermediate studies (Grades 11-12) affiliated with AKU-EB. The curriculum integrates 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, coding, and STEAM-focused learning.

Generations of alumni have excelled globally in fields such as education, business, science, and public service. Students consistently achieve success in board examinations and represent the school in inter-school tournaments, reflecting the institution's focus on academic and athletic excellence.

Admissions begin at the Pre-Junior level for children aged 5.5 to 6.5 years. The process is merit-based, and the school advises against seeking external references. Lateral admissions to other grades are subject to seat availability.

The school operates Monday to Friday. Junior school classes run from 07:55 am to 1:30 pm, and Senior school classes run from 07:55 am to 3:30 pm.

The school is situated on an expansive 18-acre campus in Karachi. Key facilities include a 25-meter swimming pool, an international-standard AstroTurf sports ground, and a 13,000 sq. ft. gymnasium with seating for 1,500. Academic facilities feature modern science and computer labs, libraries, an auditorium, an amphitheater, and a student clinic.

The school offers a wide range of enrichment activities, including language and literary clubs, STEM and robotics clubs, and music, art, and design clubs. Students participate in the HPS Cadet Corps, established in 1963, and the school's iconic Brass Band. Sports are a central focus, with facilities for basketball, volleyball, netball, throwball, and athletics, supported by full-time instructors.
