Hamelin-Laie International School

The school offers a trilingual education in English, Spanish, and Catalan, with additional language options including French, Chinese, and German. The academic pathway includes the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). For the final two years of secondary school, students choose between the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the Spanish National Baccalaureate (Bachillerato Nacional).

Graduates consistently achieve strong results in both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the National Baccalaureate. Students frequently progress to top universities worldwide, including institutions such as Cornell University, King's College London, and ESSEC Business School.

Hamelin-Laie is a non-selective school that accepts applications all year round. The admissions process involves an initial enquiry, a campus visit or virtual discovery meeting, the submission of an application with supporting documents, and a personal interview for secondary school applicants. Once an offer is made, families secure their child's place by paying the relevant registration fee.

The school operates on a term-based academic calendar. For the 2026-27 academic year, Term 1 begins on September 3, 2026, with a Christmas break from December 22, 2026, to January 7, 2027. Term 2 runs from January 8 to April 6, 2026, including a February half-term break, followed by an Easter break in March and April 2027.

Located in Montgat, the campus features modern, purpose-built facilities including bespoke music, art, and dance studios, as well as state-of-the-art science, design, and technology labs. The grounds include an AstroTurf pitch, outdoor play spaces, a forest garden, and a seaside Greek amphitheatre. The school also provides dedicated boarding facilities for students aged 14 to 18.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including musical theatre, ballet, football, and roller-skating. Students can also participate in student-initiated clubs such as the HeforShe Club and the Immediate Change Club, as well as leadership roles like Student Ambassadors and UNICEF Ambassadors. Additionally, the school hosts annual events like the International Food Fair and Hamelin Diada Day.
