Ibn Khuldoon National School

IKNS is a non-profit, self-supporting institution dedicated to providing high-quality, internationally recognized education. It emphasizes a bilingual approach, fostering fluency in both Arabic and English, and is committed to nurturing students academically and personally while maintaining strong partnerships with parents through the Parents, Teachers and Students Association (PTSA).

IKNS is an authorized IB Continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). In Grades 11 and 12, students may choose between the IB Diploma Programme and the American High School Diploma. Additionally, the school follows the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for Arabic, National, Social, and Islamic studies from K-12.

IKNS is an "Outstanding" rated school by the Education & Training Quality Authority (BQA) and holds accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). Graduates consistently achieve high results in the IB Diploma Programme, and many alumni go on to receive prestigious scholarships, such as the Crown Prince International Scholarship (CPISP), and contribute to local and international fields.

The school maintains a diverse faculty with backgrounds in both Arabic and English to provide a supportive learning environment. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and a Board of Directors, supported by specialized committees in education, finance, and technology to ensure continuous improvement in services and curricula.

IKNS accepts students from KG1 to Grade 11, aged 4 to 18 years old. The admissions process requires applicants to review the school brochure and policy, and prospective families are expected to accept the school's philosophy, mission, and student handbook regulations. New students are subject to an application fee and an admission fee, and the school requires a refundable loan from parents upon enrollment.

The school year typically runs from September to June, divided into two semesters. The calendar includes mid-semester and mid-year breaks, national holidays, and specific periods for internal assessments and external IB examinations. The academic year concludes in June with graduation ceremonies and final grade reporting.

The campus features a dedicated Kindergarten and Elementary building equipped with forty-four classrooms, a 300-seat auditorium, a media center, and specialized spaces for music, drama, dance, and art. The facilities also include science labs, an ICT/STEM center, and a dining hall. The school utilizes the Farouk Almoayyed Hall for major events and exhibitions.

Students participate in a wide range of activities, including the Model United Nations (IKMUN), the TradeQuest financial competition, and various student-led clubs such as the Heritage Club, Environmental Club, and the "SW 5air" charitable group. The school also organizes educational trips to destinations like London, Italy, Oman, and South Africa, and hosts annual events such as the school carnival and musical productions.
