Ionios School

Founded in 1908 by Konstantinos G. Kavalieratos, the school is committed to providing a comprehensive "Greek education" (ελληνική παιδεία). The institution maintains a long-standing tradition of pedagogical excellence, currently managed by the descendants of the founder, and focuses on the holistic development of its students.

The school provides a full educational pathway including Kindergarten, Primary School, Gymnasium (Middle School), and General Lyceum (High School). Additionally, it offers the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), which includes six academic subject groups, an Extended Essay, a Theory of Knowledge (ToK) course, and the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) requirement. Instruction in foreign languages, including English, French, German, and Spanish, is also integrated into the curriculum.

The school emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the school and parents, viewing parents as contributors to the educational process. A school psychologist is available to support the student community, and parents are welcome to visit the school on any school day to discuss their child's progress, seek guidance, or address any difficulties.

The school operates on a campus in Marousi, which includes a 16,000 square meter site. Facilities feature a closed Athletic Center, specialized laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Information Technology, school libraries, and music studios. From September 2026, all educational levels will be consolidated at the Marousi campus.

The school offers a variety of creative clubs and activities, including student newspapers and music studios. Students may also participate in the Ionios School Athletic Club and a summer programme known as "Athletic Summer." These activities are designed to complement the academic experience and foster student engagement.
