The school is an IB World School offering the full continuum of IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (Nursery 1 to Grade 5), the Middle Years Programme (Grades 6 to 10), and the Diploma and Career-related Programmes (Grades 11 and 12). It provides a bilingual French-English programme from Nursery through Middle School, alongside an English-only track. Additional language instruction is available in Kinyarwanda, German, French, and Mandarin.

Graduates are prepared for admission to universities worldwide through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The school fosters critical thinking, emotional intelligence, resilience, and global perspective, aiming to develop ethical individuals capable of solving real-world problems. Students are encouraged to embody the IB Learner Profile attributes, such as being inquirers, knowledgeable, and principled.

The school emphasizes the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, which include thinking, communication, research, social, and self-management skills. These are designed to help students learn how to learn and are integrated into the IB curriculum. Additionally, the school provides career guidance and health and wellness support to ensure the holistic development of its learners.

The admissions process is managed through an online portal where families submit academic records, identity documents, and an application fee. Prospective students undergo an age-appropriate assessment, which includes a play-based observation for Nursery applicants or an entrance test for Primary and Secondary levels. Upon acceptance, families receive an offer letter and must pay a registration fee to secure a seat.

The school operates on a standard weekday schedule from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM. The academic calendar includes various school-wide events, such as moving-up ceremonies for Nursery and Primary students.

The campus features state-of-the-art facilities, including modern Nursery and Primary school buildings with light-filled classrooms, libraries, art rooms, and playgrounds. The school provides two swimming pools for younger learners and maintains various playing fields. Future development plans include the construction of a new High School, a gymnasium, a sports field, a dining hall, and an arts center equipped with a theater.

Green Hills Academy offers a wide range of after-school activities and clubs designed to develop artistic, sporting, and leadership skills. The arts programme includes choir, band, fine arts, and instruction in instruments such as piano, guitar, and percussion. Sports offerings include football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, karate, aerobics, and swimming.
