Kingsway Academy

Kingsway Academy is a Christian institution dedicated to training children in the "King’s way" based on the premise of Proverbs 22:6. The school emphasizes a Biblical worldview, teaching students to integrate faith into all subjects, including science and history, while fostering character development and moral responsibility. The community focuses on the holistic development of the child—academically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

The academic programme spans from K3 through high school, with a curriculum designed to prepare students for national and international examinations. Junior high students are prepared for the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC), while senior high students work toward the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Examination (BGCSE), with options for IGCSE and AP courses. The curriculum integrates Biblical principles across all subjects, supported by a dedicated faculty and staff.

The school aims to produce leaders who are prepared to thrive both nationally and globally while fulfilling their God-given purpose. High school students are prepared for success in the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) and Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Examination (BGCSE) examinations, with additional opportunities to sit for IGCSE and AP exams. Graduates are expected to uphold high standards of integrity and academic excellence.

The Guidance Department provides a character development program focusing on virtues such as obedience, diligence, and integrity. The guidance counselor offers individual support for students who are struggling or require extra attention to ensure they remain on track. Additionally, the school hosts guest speakers and organizes events like Happy Meal Day to foster positive parent-student relationships.

Prospective families must submit an application form, pay a $30 application fee, and provide required documentation, including transcripts for grades 1-6, a guidance evaluation form, and health records. All incoming students are required to sit for an entrance examination and participate in an interview with the school’s administration. Upon acceptance, a non-refundable enrollment and seat fee of $225 is required to secure a place.

The school day for elementary students begins at 8:15 AM, with classroom access starting at 7:50 AM. Dismissal is at 2:30 PM for K3-K5 and 2:45 PM for grades 1-6, Monday through Thursday, with an early dismissal at 2:00 PM on Fridays. Tuition payments are due on the 1st of August, November, and March.

The elementary campus features spacious classrooms for K3 through grade 6, a computer lab, and dedicated rooms for Spanish, music, and art. The grounds include a library, physical education fields, and courts, alongside a registered nurse's office. The school also operates the Saints’ Cafe, which provides daily hot breakfast and lunch options for students.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, including clubs for cooking, reading, singing, sign language, and computer coding. Students may participate in chapters of international organizations such as K-Kids, Red Cross, and Sunflowers, or join the elementary choir, Kingsway Melodies. Athletic opportunities include basketball, volleyball, soccer, track, and golf, with teams competing against other schools throughout the year.
