The school offers a comprehensive academic pathway from Early Childhood (ages 3–5) through Primary (Years 1–6) and Secondary (Years 7–11). The curriculum integrates the Cambridge International Curriculum with Chinese literature, moral education, and core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, and Bahasa Melayu. Secondary students can choose between Science and Business streams, and the school provides two distinct Chinese language pathways: First Language Chinese (CFL) and Second Language Chinese (CSL).

The school aims to cultivate individuals who are academically accomplished and possess the character strength to contribute positively to their families and global society. Students are prepared for the challenges of the 21st century through an education that aligns with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Recent student achievements include winning the "Best Performance Organization Award" at the 2024 7th Chinese Poem Recitation Competition.

The school maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio in its Early Childhood programme to ensure each child receives personalized attention. Professional guidance is provided to help families choose the most suitable Chinese language pathway based on a student's language background, learning progress, and classroom adaptation. Additionally, the school offers a flexible pathway transition mechanism to support students as their language abilities and learning needs evolve.

The admission process begins with an inquiry via phone, email, or the school website. Following the submission of an application form and required documentation—such as birth certificates, immunization records, and previous school reports—the school schedules a visit and an informal interview for the child. Depending on the grade level, applicants may undergo an age-appropriate assessment to evaluate academic and social readiness. Upon acceptance, parents complete the enrollment through fee payment, followed by an orientation session for new families.

The academic year at Mahans International School is divided into four terms, running from January to December. The school office operates from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and is closed on weekends and public holidays.

Located in Melaka, the campus provides a range of learning environments to support its curriculum. Facilities include classrooms for academic instruction, dedicated spaces for music and art, and areas for physical education. The school also maintains laboratories to support science subjects in the secondary levels.
