Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (MWIT)

Guided by the vision of HRH Prince Mahidol of Songkla, the school believes that "true success is not in the learning, but in its application to the benefit of mankind." It is dedicated to nurturing exceptionally gifted students through a specialized curriculum that emphasizes science, mathematics, and technology, while fostering a commitment to national development.

The curriculum fulfills the national requirements of the Ministry of Education while offering a high degree of specialization in science, mathematics, and technology. Students complete 86 credits, consisting of 68 compulsory credits—including subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Engineering—and 18 elective credits. A mandatory component of the programme is the completion of at least one formal science project before graduation.

The school aims to produce well-rounded, responsible individuals with high capacity in science, mathematics, and technology who are committed to contributing to the country's future competitiveness. Graduates are expected to have completed at least one formal science project, demonstrating their ability to apply learning to the benefit of mankind.

The school maintains an optimum teacher-to-student ratio, with class sizes limited to 24 students to ensure enhanced interaction and personalized learning experiences. Students are provided with laptops and campus-wide internet access to encourage self-learning and exploration. Additionally, the school offers various elective courses tailored to individual student interests and aptitudes.

Mahidol Wittayanusorn School is a public, government-funded boarding school that selects 240 new students annually. The school provides specialized education for exceptionally talented students in Grades 10-12, with a total student body of 720. Prospective visitors, such as educational groups, may request study visits by submitting a formal request to the school director at least two weeks in advance.

The academic year is divided into two semesters. The first semester typically runs from mid-May to late September, while the second semester spans from early November to late February. Final examinations for Grade 12 students usually occur in early February, followed by examinations for Grades 10 and 11 in late February.

The campus features smart classrooms equipped with digital connectivity, wall-mounted flat panels, and interactive whiteboards to support collaborative learning. The Resource Center serves as a comprehensive library, and the school provides laptops to all students and teachers, supported by 400 computer terminals across the campus. Sports facilities include a multi-level indoor complex with a swimming pool, fitness center, basketball court, gymnasium, badminton and squash courts, and ping pong tables. Residential facilities consist of three dormitory buildings, with separate rooms for male and female students, as well as guestrooms for visitors and staff.

The school offers a wide range of learner development activities designed to instill specific characteristics in students. These include moral and ethics activities, STEM challenges, and structured reading programmes. Students also participate in community service, Thai identity and civics activities, health and physical education, and various student-led clubs.
