Maz International School Shah Alam

MAZ International School is an inclusive community that emphasizes the pursuit of excellence and lifelong learning. It aims to develop students into well-mannered, independent, and confident individuals with high self-esteem. The school’s approach balances a solid academic education with the development of practical, "street-smart" skills, encouraging students to find their own niche rather than focusing solely on competition.

The school offers a British-based curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International (IGCSE) and Pearson Edexcel frameworks, spanning from pre-school through to secondary levels. The primary school curriculum (Grades 1–6) covers subjects including English, Malay, Science, Mathematics, Geography, Computing, Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, and Islamiyat. The secondary programme prepares students for internationally recognized IGCSE qualifications, and the school also provides a pre-university programme.

The school maintains an inclusive learning community that adapts instruction to suit each child’s individual abilities, needs, and learning styles. It offers an English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme to support students, and class sizes are limited to a maximum of 25 students to ensure individualized attention, with an average student-teacher ratio of 15:1.

The school’s admission process involves an application, a personal interview, and a testing day to assess the student's educational and developmental needs. Placement is at the school's discretion, considering factors such as age, academic ability, and developmental requirements. For Malaysian citizens, enrollment is conditional on possessing a valid approval letter from the Ministry of Education, while non-Malaysian citizens must hold a valid visa issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department. A non-refundable application fee and registration fee are required, along with a refundable security deposit equivalent to one term's fee.

The academic year runs from May to April and is divided into three terms. Term 1 spans from May to August, Term 2 from September to December, and Term 3 from January to April. The calendar includes scheduled examination periods, report book days, and term holidays, as well as various public holidays observed in Malaysia.

MAZ International School operates two campuses: a long-standing site in Petaling Jaya and a newer campus in Shah Alam. The Shah Alam campus features modern classrooms, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and boarding facilities that include accommodation, laundry, and utilities. Both campuses provide modern learning spaces and are equipped with sports and performing arts facilities.

The school offers a variety of co-curricular activities designed to complement the academic experience. Primary school offerings include sports such as dodgeball, futsal, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. The school also provides a wealth of leadership opportunities for students prepared to exercise initiative and accept challenges.
