The school delivers the British curriculum, having transitioned from its origins as an American curriculum learning center. The academic programme includes core subjects, with Bahasa and Mandarin taught from the Reception level as second languages. Secondary students also receive instruction in financial literacy, covering topics such as budgeting, savings, and investing.

The school aims to prepare graduates to be "Leaders for Every Domain" who are ready to thrive in the next phase of their lives. Students from Year 3 to Year 9 participate in annual external benchmarking assessments to measure their progress against international standards. The school also provides guidance for university placement to ensure students are prepared for their future academic and professional paths.

Destiny International School provides additional support for students who face learning challenges or come from non-native English language backgrounds. This support is designed as a temporary measure to help students reach the required pace for their grade level, after which they are integrated back into their regular classes.

The admissions process includes an entrance test, a student interview, and a potential trial class, followed by a parent meeting. Prospective families are encouraged to schedule a personal tour of the campus to observe teachers and students in the learning environment. Applications require the submission of an application form, registration fee, and a family deposit.

The school follows the Malaysian national academic calendar, with the year running from January to November. The academic year is divided into two semesters: Semester 1 from January to July, and Semester 2 from July to November. School hours vary by level, with Early Years and Primary students finishing at 3:30pm (Monday–Thursday) and 12:00pm (Friday), while Secondary students finish at 4:00pm (Monday–Thursday) and 12:20pm (Friday).

Located in Muar, Johor, the campus provides a safe and supportive environment for students. The school features classrooms designed for its international curriculum and maintains facilities to support its academic, sports, and creative arts programmes. The school emphasizes leadership development through a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Students from Year 4 onwards can join the Student Representative Council, serving as librarians, house captains, or club leaders.
