Oakridge Secondary School

The school aims to create a caring, equitable community that engages and develops globally competent students. It emphasizes excellence in learning, achievement, and well-being, while fostering a strong tradition of academic excellence complemented by commitments to the arts, athletics, and community involvement.

Oakridge offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme for students in grades 11 and 12. The academic curriculum is delivered through various departments, including Science, Social Science and Family Studies, Visual Arts, Math, Modern Languages, Business, Cooperative Education, Geography, History, and Physical and Health Education. Additionally, the school provides the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programme.

The school provides guidance and learning services to support student success and career planning. Mental health and well-being resources are available for students, families, and employees, and the school maintains Individual Plans of Care (IPOC) for students with prevalent medical conditions. Homework help is also accessible to students.

Registration is managed through the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) processes, with specific procedures for in-area and out-of-area applicants. In-area students from feeder schools register via myBlueprint, while other families must submit online pre-registration forms or out-of-area exemption requests by established deadlines. International students and newcomers are directed to the One World International Welcome Centre for enrollment support.

The school operates on a daily schedule with four periods, beginning at 8:15 AM and concluding at 2:30 PM, with a lunch break from 10:50 AM to 11:55 AM. Families are advised to consult the official TVDSB secondary school year calendar for term dates and holidays. It is noted that students have academic commitments during designated Assessment Days, and families are requested to avoid scheduling trips during these times.

The campus features a library learning commons and a front vehicle loop for student drop-off and pick-up. The building is secured with a card access and buzzer system, with all entrances opening at 7:00 AM and most doors locking after 8:30 AM for security. The school also maintains an OZone Spirit Store for students.

Oakridge offers a wide range of clubs, teams, music ensembles, and groups designed to align with student interests. These activities are supported by an optional student fee, which provides starting budgets for clubs and helps organize school-wide events. Active participation in these extracurricular offerings is encouraged as a central part of the student experience.
