Redmaids' High School Senior & Sixth Form

Redmaids’ High School is an inclusive community founded on the principles of happiness, aspiration, and support for others. It is committed to single-sex education, aiming to understand each student's individual strengths and inspire a lifelong love of learning. The school seeks to equip young women with the confidence and skills to make a difference in the world without having their ambitions limited by external forces.

The school provides a comprehensive education for girls from age 7 through to the Sixth Form. The curriculum is supported by world-class opportunities in science and technology, alongside a broad range of academic subjects. Students benefit from curriculum-based trips, outdoor education—including visits to Mendip Outdoor and residential trips to Skern Lodge—and enrichment days in the Senior School.

The school utilizes the Tooled Up Education digital platform to provide students and families with evidence-based resources on mental health, aspiration, learning, and digital well-being. While standard support is provided, additional 1:1 lessons for students with specific educational needs are available by consultation with the SENCO and are charged separately. The school emphasizes an inclusive community focused on individual understanding and student resilience.

The school welcomes enquiries and encourages prospective families to arrange a tour to explore the admissions process. A non-refundable registration fee of £100 is required, followed by an acceptance deposit of £450, which is repaid after the student completes her final term. Scholarships and bursaries are available for the Senior School and Sixth Form to ensure accessibility for ambitious students regardless of socio-economic background.

The school operates on a three-term academic year, typically running from early September to early July. Each term includes a half-term break, and the calendar features specific events such as Founders’ Commemoration Day in November. Parents are requested to avoid scheduling holidays during term time.

The school operates across two sites in Westbury-on-Trym: a Junior School on Grange Court Road and a Senior School on Westbury Road. Facilities include learning environments for science and technology, as well as dedicated spaces for sport, drama, art, and music. Students are provided with an individual iPad on long-term loan, and the school offers wraparound care, including breakfast clubs and after-school supervision.

The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, many of which are included in the school fees. Students have access to specialist sports coaches, drama teachers, and visiting music teachers. Additionally, the school hosts external experts, including authors, elite athletes, business leaders, and academics, to enrich the students' experiences.
