Ridge Church School

Ridge Church School is a Christian institution that emphasizes living out faith through daily actions, promoting values such as godliness, honesty, integrity, and humility. The school aims to provide an excellence-driven education that fosters essential soft skills, including critical thinking, leadership, and empathy. The school offers a structured academic pathway starting with play-based learning in the Manet Preschool for ages 3–4. This is followed by the Primary Department (ages 5–11) using the Ghana Education Service (G.E.S) curriculum with integrated ICT, and the Junior High School Department (ages 12–15) which prepares students for the B.E.C.E. Additionally, the school provides a Cambridge Lower Secondary pathway for students aged 14–16.

The school recognizes academic excellence through various awards, including subject prizes and the Hewson Prize for students achieving Grade One in all subjects in the B.E.C.E. Students who score 90% or above in termly examinations are awarded certificates of merit. Pupils are also recognized for good conduct, leadership as prefects, and achievements in sports.

Applicants for Kindergarten Two must be at least five years old, while those entering Class One must be six. The process includes a registration form, an interview, and the submission of a health record, with proficiency in English required for all entrants. Mid-stream admissions are possible subject to vacancy availability and may require an entrance examination.

The school operates on a three-term system, with the 2026/2027 academic year beginning in September. The school day generally runs from 7:45 am until 3:30 pm, with extended hours for Junior High and Cambridge students on certain days. The calendar includes designated periods for examinations, mid-term breaks, sports days, and speech and prize-giving ceremonies.

The campus is located on a quiet site in Accra and features modern, purpose-built facilities including classroom blocks, a multi-purpose building with an assembly hall, library, and computer laboratory, and a dedicated kindergarten block with its own play area. Specialized spaces include science laboratories, a pre-technical skills workshop, a Ghanaian language classroom, and a sick bay. Outdoor facilities include an astro turf pitch with changing rooms.

The school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities, including club meetings and enrichment sessions held on Thursdays and Fridays. Physical education is a compulsory component of the curriculum for all students. Additionally, the school hosts events such as sports days, excursions, and celebrations like Ghana Month to support holistic development.
