Rootland School

Rootland School is committed to educating upright and innovative individuals who transform the global community. The school implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) through a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based framework. The academic structure includes a trilingual curriculum featuring English as a second language of instruction and French as a third language starting in Pre-First. The educational levels range from 'Tiny Tots' (starting at 1.2 years) and 'Toddlers U' through Kinder (1-3), Pre-First, and Primaria.

The school aims to develop well-rounded, independent, and reflective students who possess critical thinking skills and a sense of social responsibility. Graduates are prepared to be conscious, empathetic citizens capable of designing and achieving their personal life projects while contributing positively to a globalized world.

The school provides psychopedagogical support that respects the uniqueness and individuality of each student. This support focuses on strengthening socio-emotional development and identifying and removing barriers to learning to ensure all students can participate fully in the educational community.

The admissions process begins with scheduling an appointment for a tour and information meeting. Following this, applicants must pay for and attend an evaluation, participate in an interview with the psychopedagogy department, and complete a final interview and feedback session with the school principal. Required documentation includes photos of the student and parents, proof of address, and various signed agreements regarding school regulations and privacy policies.

The school operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 am to 2:30 pm. An optional After-School programme is available Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

The campus is located in the Florida neighborhood of Álvaro Obregón, Mexico City. The school incorporates sustainable infrastructure, including solar panels, and maintains a focus on environmental care. The facilities are designed to support a modern educational environment, including specialized spaces for robotics and other extracurricular activities.

The After-School programme provides enrichment activities designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and autonomy. Offerings include chess and Rubik’s Cube club, basketball (men’s and women’s), dance, gymnastics, aerial dance, football, music, parkour, taekwondo, and 'Voz, Cámara, Acción' (acting). Additionally, students may participate in 'Galileo’s Lab,' which focuses on robotics.
