Saedding Efterskole

Sædding Efterskole is a Christian school that emphasizes high academic standards, strong community bonds, and a healthy lifestyle. Its core values are centered on the concepts of "Knowledge and World," "Freedom and Community," and "Health and Sport." The school aims to foster personal and social development, grounded in the belief in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The school offers 8th grade (integrated with 9th grade), 9th grade, and two 10th-grade tracks: 10. Erhverv (Vocational) and 10. Gym (Gymnasium-preparatory). The curriculum covers core subjects such as Danish, mathematics, English, German, social studies, geography, history, biology, and physics/chemistry. Students also choose mandatory line subjects (linjefag) such as World Wide, Music, Art & Design, Craft & Construction, and Sport, alongside various electives.

The school provides an inclusive environment with a specific "LÆS+" program for students with dyslexia, offering structured support and assistive technology. It also offers an inclusion program for students with special needs, supported by educational guidance and regular check-ins with contact teachers to ensure student well-being.

Prospective students can apply online or via a printed form, with no initial application fee. An enrollment fee of 3,000 DKK is required approximately 10 months before the start of the school year. The school encourages families to book a visit for a tour and conversation prior to enrollment.

The school year typically begins in early August, with an initial 2-day "rafting trip" (tømmerflådetur) on the Vorgod River. The calendar includes annual highlights such as a ski trip, a European city trip, a musical week, and various sports tournaments. Specific dates for events are managed through the school's online calendar system.

Located on a 4.6-hectare site, the campus features a central sports hall with fitness equipment, a modern biology/physics lab, music rooms with a recording studio, and creative workshops for woodwork, metalwork, and arts like ceramics and painting. Residential facilities consist of two-person rooms with private bathrooms, organized on separate boys' and girls' wings, each with a small kitchen. Outdoor amenities include a cross-country track, beach volleyball court, football pitch, artificial turf field, and a garden with fire pits and terraces.

Students have access to a wide range of activities, including band practice, trailer building, crochet, sports events, and gaming. The school offers various elective subjects (valgfag) such as sports, music, creative arts, and motor/handicraft skills. Additionally, students participate in daily morning runs, and the school organizes events like a gala party, a "Hærvejstur" hike, and a silent weekend.
