Notre Dame School

Notre Dame School is an innovative institution that combines traditional values with a commitment to critical thinking and scientific inquiry, all within a distinctive Catholic character. It aims to build the minds of future leaders by fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility and ethics.

The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum from 1st through 12th grade that is aligned with national and international standards. The secondary school programme is college-preparatory and includes rigorous subjects such as Calculus, Biology, Economics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Sociology.

Graduates of the school have gone on to pursue diverse fields globally, including molecular biology, applied mathematics, industrial engineering, and communications and film. The school emphasizes the development of critical thinking, scientific knowledge, and moral values to prepare students for future success.

The school provides support classes for students when determined necessary during the admission evaluation process to help them meet their educational needs. However, the institution does not provide for students with severe learning difficulties.

Admission is based on an evaluation of the student's previous educational experience, age, maturity, linguistic proficiency, and academic needs, which includes exams in English, Math, and Spanish, as well as a psychological assessment. The school requires students to have a satisfactory standard of English for instruction, and families of students with limited language proficiency must commit to school-based tutoring. Applications are accepted for preschool through 10th grade, with specific age requirements for entry, such as being at least three years old for preschool.

The school operates on a standard academic week, with classes held Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Additional enrichment and activities are available through after-school workshops running Monday through Thursday until 5:00 pm, and a Saturday Futsal Academy.

The campus is located in the Ensanche Paraíso area of Santo Domingo. It features an eLibrary to support student research and learning, and provides dedicated spaces for its various academic and extracurricular programmes.

The school offers a variety of enrichment experiences, including after-school workshops and a Saturday Futsal Academy. Students participate in annual events such as the Science Fair, which is sponsored by NASA’s GLOBE Program, and the "Kids in Business" programme, where students work in teams to design, create, and sell products to develop entrepreneurial skills.
