Teaching approach

TLS Academy is a private Christian school committed to a holistic education that integrates Christian principles, including values such as excellence, integrity, resilience, compassion, and humility. It prioritises an individualised learning approach, moving away from conventional teaching methods to focus on the unique pace and performance level of each student. The school aims to nurture students into independent learners and future leaders by fostering a spirit of excellence and faith.

Programmes

The school uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum, which divides core subjects—Mathematics, English, Literature and Creative Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Word Building—into bite-sized, mastery-based work-texts called PACEs. Students progress through these materials at their own individualised pace, with mastery demonstrated through check-ups, self-tests, and final PACE tests. The curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking skills across six phases: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.

Outcomes

Upon completion of the Grade 12 programme, students receive an American High School Diploma. Graduates have gone on to pursue higher education at institutions such as the Singapore University of Social Sciences and the University of British Columbia. The programme aims to develop independent, inquisitive learners with strong time management and critical thinking skills.
