The academic offering spans kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school (levels vary by location), with some sites offering a reception programme. The curriculum is bilingual, utilizing the immersion method with native-speaking faculty. Digital learning is integrated from kindergarten onwards, supported by a bilingual IT curriculum and platforms like Microsoft Office 365.

Students are prepared for national high school diplomas, such as the Abitur, and have the opportunity to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Graduates are intended to be global citizens who possess a strong sense of their local origins and are equipped with a globally recognized university entrance qualification.

The school supports students who are not native speakers of German or English through immersion methods. Depending on the school level, additional support is provided via German and English courses offered outside of class or as intensive instruction during class time. SIS accepts applications all year round for all locations. The process begins with a non-binding registration form, followed by an interview with school management and an optional trial period for the student. While no entrance exam is required, applicants for secondary school must provide proof of academic aptitude, such as 4th-year school reports, and the intermediate school leaving certificate is required for the upper secondary school at SIS Berlin.

The school year typically begins in August or September. The calendar includes various community events such as summer festivals, open house days, and information evenings for prospective parents throughout the academic year. Specific dates for these events are scheduled across the different campus locations.
