The school operates on a bilingual educational concept that has been implemented since 2005, fostering a multicultural environment that represents over forty nationalities. It emphasizes an independent and value-centred approach, aiming to cultivate global citizens through a combination of international education and local insight. The pedagogical approach is child-centric, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation in the local community.

The school offers a continuous educational path including kindergarten (ages 4–6), primary school, a three-year advanced secondary school (progymnasiale Sekundarschule), and a four-year college programme. Primary education follows the cantonal curriculum, supplemented by the British curriculum and proprietary SIS curricula. At the college level, students can pursue the bilingual Swiss Matura and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

Students at the college level are prepared for the nationally recognised bilingual Swiss Matura (Hausmaturität) and the globally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Graduates have the flexibility to pursue various educational paths, with the school offering specialised college subjects in "economics and law," "philosophy, psychology, pedagogics," or "biology and chemistry."

The school maintains a dedicated team of educators, including native speakers of German and English, who participate in regular internal and external training. The environment is designed to be personal, motivating, and appreciative, with a focus on individual development and independent learning. Teachers provide regular updates to parents regarding student progress and learning activities.

The school requires a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of CHF 600 for the first child and CHF 500 for each subsequent child to guarantee a school place. Admissions are open to students from kindergarten through to college, and bilingualism is not a prerequisite for enrollment. Prospective families are encouraged to attend Open House events to learn more about the school's offerings.

The school follows the official holiday calendar of the canton of Zürich. The 2026/27 academic year begins on 10 August 2026, with scheduled breaks for autumn (5–16 October 2026), Christmas (21 December 2026 – 1 January 2027), winter (15–26 February 2027), spring (26 April – 7 May 2027), and summer (19 July – 20 August 2027).

Located in an industrial zone bordering a local recreational area, the school building is accessible by public transport and features classrooms and special-purpose rooms equipped with advanced teaching technology. The campus includes a large outdoor area with a sports field, a playground, and a rooftop terrace for use during lesson-free time.

The school provides a range of extracurricular activities to complement family life, including lunch, homework supervision, and before- and after-school care. Students can participate in various leisure activities and clubs between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Additionally, the school facilitates a student exchange programme for upper-level students to study at other SIS locations abroad.
