SMA Al-Abidin Bilingual Boarding School

The school's educational philosophy focuses on developing a generation that is intelligent, innovative, and possesses noble character (akhlakul karimah). It aims to integrate Islamic values (IMTAQ) with science and technology (IPTEK) while fostering an international outlook. This vision is supported by five core pillars: English, Religious School, ICT-Based Learning, Character Building, and Multiple Intelligences.

The school offers three specialized academic pathways alongside the national curriculum: the Cambridge Class Program (CCP), the Tahfidz Class Program (TCP), and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Class Program. In the CCP, students study additional Cambridge International AS & A Level syllabi in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry to prepare for exams in Grade XII. The TCP focuses on Quranic recitation, memorization, and retention, while the ICT program covers web programming, network installation, Mikrotik configuration, and Arduino computational intelligence. Instruction is bilingual, using English for all subjects except Islamic Education, Indonesian, Arabic, and Javanese.

Graduates are prepared to enter international classes and International Undergraduate Programs (IUP) at top domestic universities, such as Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Indonesia, and Universitas Gadjah Mada, as well as overseas institutions. Alumni have successfully secured placements in competitive fields like medicine at Universitas Airlangga and law at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Student achievements also include high scores on the Academic Ability Test (TKA) and international accolades, such as a silver medal at the 2025 International Biology Olympiad in the Philippines.

Learning support at the school includes dedicated preparation sessions and practical lab work for students taking the Cambridge International AS & A Level exams. The school also provides seminars and academic counseling for students planning to study abroad. Additionally, a structured savings program is established starting in Grade X to help families financially prepare for Cambridge exam fees.

The school conducts student recruitment through the Pendataan Peminat Sekolah (PPS) system. Admissions are organized into different registration waves, including the Standard Wave (Gelombang Standar) for the 2026/2027 academic year and the Indent Wave (Gelombang Inden) for the 2027/2028 academic year. The academic year begins with a six-day orientation program for new students called OASIS (Orientation of ABBS Students and Islamic Lecture), which concludes with the "SPECTA Show" talent exhibition. For students in the Cambridge program, the calendar features mid-semester and end-of-semester exams twice a year, accompanied by specialized Cambridge progress reports. The school also hosts annual events such as Acefest LEMON and ABC.

The school's campus is divided into two locations, Kampus 1 and Kampus 2, located in Banjarsari, Surakarta. Its facilities include a basketball court used for student gatherings and events, as well as an e-Library service to support digital learning.

Students can choose from more than 20 extracurricular activities and participate in student organizations such as OSIS, ROHIS, MPK, Dewan Ambalan, and AYRC. The school offers specialized programs like Digital Leadership, which trains students in online team management and social media ethics, and the SPECTA Show, which showcases student talents in music, dance, poetry, and drama. Additionally, academic preparation is provided through National Science Olympiad (KSN/OSN) coaching.
