The British School of Tashkent

The school focuses on academic excellence, creativity, wellbeing, resilience, and global connectedness. It employs a research-led, personalised approach to learning that aims to develop human skills such as critical thinking and curiosity, preparing students to be global citizens and change-makers.

The school follows the English National Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to IGCSEs and A-levels. It offers the widest choice of subjects in Uzbekistan, with 18 subjects at IGCSE and 10 at A-level. Additionally, a dual British and Uzbek curriculum is available, allowing Uzbek nationals to study for both the local аттестат and IGCSE qualifications.

Graduates achieve results that allow them to attend top universities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, such as Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester, Toronto, and University College London. In 2024, 41% of students achieved A* or A grades in their A-levels, surpassing the UK average.

The school maintains a learning support team dedicated to working with parents to identify and address the individual needs of every student. This support is part of the school's commitment to providing an education tailored to each child's requirements.

The school provides a step-by-step admissions process that begins with an enquiry, followed by a tour (in-person or virtual) to meet the principal and teachers. Families submit academic records for evaluation by the admissions and academic teams, which may include an academic assessment. The school is available to support families through every stage of the transition.

The academic year is divided into three terms. For 2025-26, Term 1 runs from 11 August to 19 December 2025, with a half-term break in October. Term 2 begins on 7 January 2026 and ends on 13 March 2026, and Term 3 runs from 1 April to 12 June 2026.

The school operates across two campuses in Tashkent: the Sayram Campus and the Kalandar Campus. These sites provide modern learning environments designed to support the school's academic and extracurricular programmes.

Students participate in a range of activities beyond the classroom, including local outreach, volunteering, and fundraising through the 'Share A Dream' programme. The school also engages with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and UNICEF partnerships. Students have access to global opportunities, including expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland, and the online Global Campus platform for international collaboration.
