The British School in Cairo

The school follows the British educational system, leading to IGCSE qualifications. In year groups up to and including Year 8, classrooms are supported by both a teacher and a bilingual co-teacher. Admission is open for the academic year. Interested families are required to contact the school by telephone during working hours (Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) to schedule an assessment appointment. The school maintains a selective intake policy.

The academic year is divided into Autumn and Spring terms. The calendar includes scheduled school holidays, long weekends, and specific dates for parent-teacher meetings, which are designated as days off for pupils in various key stages. The school also observes national and religious holidays, such as Armed Forces Day and the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday.

The campus features air-conditioned classrooms equipped with Smart Boards, typically accommodating 20 to 25 pupils. Specialist facilities include an all-weather heated swimming pool, three computer suites, two science laboratories with a preparation room, and separate libraries for primary/Key Stage 3 and IGCSE students. Sports facilities include courts for tennis, basketball, soccer, and volleyball, alongside an assembly hall, a cafeteria, and an air-conditioned bus service with matron supervision.

The school provides a range of activities designed to support social, physical, and cultural development. These include musical shows, concerts, debates, and various camps. Pupils also participate in local and international trips, as well as charity events such as the annual fundraising Fun Day and Orphans' Day.
