The Clinton School

The school offers a seven-year continuum consisting of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6–10 and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11–12. The curriculum includes core subjects such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Arts, and Physical Education, with upper-grade students engaging in Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) projects.

Students consistently achieve high academic results, with standardized test scores in math frequently ranking in the top 5% statewide. Graduates are prepared for university through the IB Diploma Programme, which is recognized globally for its rigor in college preparation.

The school provides Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classes and maintains a commitment to meeting diverse learning needs within a community school setting. Support services include speech and language therapy, school psychology, and counseling provided by a dedicated guidance team.

The school manages admissions for grades 6 through 12, with 99 seats available for incoming 6th graders. The process follows NYC Department of Education guidelines, and the school hosts open house events for prospective families to learn about the program.

The school operates on a standard academic calendar, with the School Leadership Team (SLT) meeting monthly from September through June. The facility also hosts professional development sessions, such as those for New Visions, during the summer months.

Located near Union Square at 10 East 15th Street, the school building has housed both middle and high school grades since 2015. The campus supports a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, with students also utilizing external partnerships with institutions like the Whitney Museum and Theater for a New Audience.

In partnership with Manhattan Youth, the school offers a robust selection of after-school clubs and athletics. Activities include Lego robotics, computer programming, the school newspaper (The Clinton Post), a literary magazine (Clinton Soup), and performing arts such as the school musical and Winter Festival. Sports offerings include volleyball, basketball, track and field, and soccer.
