Admissions
The admissions process begins with an enquiry and the download of an admissions guide. Prospective pupils for Years 7–9 attend an Experience Day, followed by entrance assessments in Mathematics, English, and Verbal Reasoning. The school offers a range of day and boarding options, including flexible, 3, 5, or 7-night boarding, and welcomes international pupils. Following the offer of a place, new pupils are invited to a Welcome Day in the summer term and participate in an induction at the start of the academic year.
Calendar
The school operates on a three-term structure: Michaelmas, Lent, and Summer. The academic year includes scheduled 'Leave Out' weekends, half-term breaks, and specific ceremonial events such as Harvest, Remembrance, Founders' Day, and Sports Day. Boarding houses remain open until noon on the day following the end of a term or half-term.

About the campus
Set on a 200-acre riverside campus, the school features 96 acres of sports fields, all-weather pitches, an indoor swimming pool, a golf course, an indoor climbing wall, a gym, and various courts for squash, netball, and tennis. Academic and creative facilities include a purpose-built music school with a recital hall and recording studio, a library and resource centre, and nine art and design studios with an atrium gallery. The campus also houses an on-site health centre and a dental clinic.
Co-curriculars
The school offers over 100 co-curricular activities designed to foster confidence, resilience, and leadership. Key programmes include a nationally recognised Sailing Academy at Alton Water, a Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and extensive opportunities in music, including 19 choirs and bands, as well as drama, art, and competitive sport. The school also maintains a Marching Band and a Corps of Drums that perform at ceremonial events.
