The academic offering includes an international education pathway in English and a bilingual English/German pathway for students aged 3 to 11, with the bilingual option extending to Grade 9. The curriculum is divided into three stages: the Lower School (ages 3-11) focusing on inquiry-driven primary education; the Middle School (ages 11-14) offering an inquiry-based curriculum; and the Upper School (ages 14-18) providing rigorous pathways such as the IB Diploma Programme and Advanced Placement courses.

Students are prepared for universities worldwide through rigorous pathways, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The school focuses on developing curious, resilient, and collaborative learners who are equipped to act as purpose-driven citizens and global navigators. Graduates are supported by career counseling and university application guidance.

The school provides student and learning support services, including support for English as an Additional Language (EAL). These services are included in the tuition fees, with the exception of specialized offerings such as Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. A Bespoke Learning Support Program is also available for an additional fee.

The admissions process is supported by an Enrollment Team that guides prospective families through inquiries, campus visits, and applications. The school is an inclusive, non-profit day school serving local and foreign national students aged 3 to 18. The school operates across two age-appropriate campuses in the Greater Zurich area. The Primary Campus in Wädenswil houses the Early Childhood and Lower School programs, featuring age-appropriate playgrounds. The Secondary Campus in Adliswil serves Middle and Upper School students and includes a brand-new facility (opened in 2022) with a media center, Design Lab, theater, and music performance areas, as well as science laboratories.

ZIS offers a broad co-curricular program designed to help students discover their passions and talents. Activities include sports, arts, service, and debating, with specific clubs and after-school activities tailored to different age groups. These programs are integrated into the school experience to foster character, wellbeing, and confidence.
