The school offers a five-year programme based on the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, spanning from Year 7 to Year 11. The curriculum includes core subjects such as English as a Second Language, Mathematics, Science, Computing, Global Perspectives, and Art & Design, alongside mandatory subjects required by the Ministry of Education, including Bahasa Melayu, Sejarah, and Islamic or Moral Studies. Additional subjects in the upper years include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, and Economics.

Pupils from the B40 economic group are prioritised for full scholarships to ensure equitable access to education.

Admission is open to students currently in Primary 6 or Year 6 who are Sarawakian or have at least one Sarawakian parent. Applicants must currently be enrolled in a Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC), an international school, or any primary school located outside of Sarawak. Candidates are required to sit for the YSISS Entrance Assessment, which evaluates proficiency in Science, Mathematics, and English. Admission offers are issued following the assessment process.

The school operates on a term-based academic calendar that includes scheduled school days, term breaks, and public holidays. The calendar incorporates specific periods for term examinations, parents' days, and school events such as sports days. Boarding students follow a structured schedule that includes weekend stays.

The school maintains multiple campuses, including locations in Petra Jaya, Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri. Facilities include 24 subject-based classrooms, six science labs, two ICT labs, and a tinkering lab. Additional spaces include a multipurpose hall, sports hall, dining hall, dance studio, art studio, music room, library, and workshop, alongside male and female dormitories for boarders.
