Bali Island School

Bali Island School is an IB Continuum school that emphasizes the development of internationally-minded, reflective, and principled learners. It fosters a community where students are encouraged to be risk-takers, inquire deeply, and strive for a balanced life. The school offers the full IB Continuum: the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for preschool to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 6-10, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 11-12. The curriculum integrates specialist subjects such as Modern Languages, Music, and Physical Education across all levels. The DP prepares students for university through an academically challenging and balanced framework, while the PYP and MYP focus on inquiry-based learning and the development of essential life skills.

The school provides inclusive learning support, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) services for students in Years 2-12 based on WIDA assessment scores. A dedicated team works with teachers to provide tailored instruction in small groups or individual sessions, while a school counselor supports social-emotional needs and university orientation. The school is unable to accommodate students requiring intensive individual help for severe learning challenges.

Bali Island School accepts applications throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis. The school year runs from August to June and is divided into four terms. Prospective families are encouraged to book a personal tour, available Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM.

The school year begins in August and concludes in June, structured into four academic terms. School hours are 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday to Friday, with specific half-day arrangements for Pre-School 3 students during the first semester.

The campus features an authentic Balinese ambiance and includes a library with approximately 40,000 print titles and digital academic databases. Sports facilities comprise two large (60m x 40m) and one small (30m x 20m) sports field, a 25m x 14m swimming pool with FINA-standard starting blocks, and a covered area for tennis, basketball, or volleyball. Classrooms are designed to support the learning process, with primary classrooms organized into stations equipped with age-appropriate technology.

The school offers a variety of after-school activities from 3 PM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, allowing students to explore new interests and connect across grade levels. Formal leadership opportunities include the Student Council and House Captains, while students also engage in community service initiatives, such as Service as Action (SaA) in the MYP and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) projects in the DP.
