Melodies International Kindergarten is a long-standing, trusted Japanese kindergarten in Bangkok, established in 1981 and officially approved by the Thai Ministry of Education. It provides comprehensive early childhood education through Japanese, International, and Nursery sections.

Teaching approach

The school is guided by the motto "Bright, Strong, Thinking" (あかるく! つよく! かんがえる!). It emphasizes the importance of family values, resilience, and independence, aiming to nurture children's potential through a warm and welcoming environment. The educational approach balances Japanese cultural identity with international awareness, supported by the principal's background in developmental psychology.

Programmes

The school offers three main programmes: a Japanese Section (ages 2–5) following Japanese Ministry of Education standards; an International Section (ages 18 months–5 years) with a focus on phonics and English acquisition; and a Nursery (ages 18 months–2 years). The Japanese curriculum incorporates STEAM education, including LEGO-based activities and digital tools like iPads and Apple Pencils, alongside English and Thai language lessons. All programmes emphasize a structured daily routine of play, learning activities, and events to support social and cognitive development.

Outcomes

Since its establishment in 1981, the school has guided over 4,000 children. Graduates are prepared for a seamless transition into the Japanese education system, with many continuing their studies at the Thai-Japanese School in Bangkok or elementary schools in Japan. The curriculum aims to foster strong, happy, and independent individuals.
