Blyth Academy

The school is built on the principles of personalization, mastery, and a culture that helps students thrive both inside and outside the classroom. It emphasizes an adaptable educational model that meets students where they are, fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes student well-being and individual academic goals.

The school follows the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, offering full-time programs for Grades 4–12, as well as part-time, summer, and night school options. Key academic initiatives include the Launchpad program for Grades 9–10, which focuses on leadership and skill-building, and a University Prep program for Grades 11–12. Additionally, the school operates Blyth Academy Orbit, a fully virtual campus with live, teacher-led classes, and Blyth Academy Online, which provides self-paced, interactive courses.

Blyth Academy reports a 98% university acceptance rate. Graduates have secured significant scholarships, including awards for direct entry into medical programs, and have demonstrated success in competitive fields such as robotics at the VEX World Championship.

The school provides personalized support through a low 1:70 counsellor-to-student ratio, with guidance counsellors meeting weekly with students to assist with course selection, post-secondary planning, and scholarship applications. Teachers and guidance teams are intentionally structured to know each student personally, offering individualized attention to support mental health and academic success.

Blyth Academy maintains an online application portal for prospective students. Interested families are encouraged to contact an admissions advisor to discuss options, and the school hosts private campus tours for families to meet staff and explore facilities.

The school operates on a four-term (quadmester) model, with terms typically running from September to November, November to January, January to April, and April to June. Part-time options, including night school and summer school, are also available with specific sessions scheduled throughout the year.

Blyth Academy operates five in-person campuses across Ontario located in Burlington, Downsview Park (Toronto), Lawrence Park (Toronto), Mississauga, and The Glebe (Ottawa). These campuses are designed as small, intimate environments, typically hosting 50–125 students each, and provide settings for in-person learning, including access to maker spaces and other specialized learning areas.

Students have access to a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including community outreach, field trips, and wellness programming. As part of the Globeducate network, students can participate in international events such as Model UN, leadership summits, arts competitions, and initiatives related to Eco-Schools and the WWF.
