Colegio Pestalozzi (Colegio Suizo del Peru)

The school is a private, mixed, and neutral institution that follows the educational principles of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, emphasizing the integration of 'mind, hands, and heart.' It aims to be a 'meeting school' that fosters a bicultural (Swiss-Peruvian) and bilingual (German-Spanish) environment, promoting respect, empathy, and democratic values. The institution seeks to develop seven core competencies in students, including self-knowledge, critical thinking, global vision, and assertive communication in German, French, English, and Spanish.

The academic programme spans from Spielgruppe and initial education through primary and secondary levels, culminating in the International Baccalaureate (IB). The curriculum is bilingual, with German and Spanish as core languages, while English is introduced in the first grade of primary and French is offered as an elective in secondary school. The school also incorporates technology and innovation into its pedagogical model to prepare students for future challenges.

The school provides support strategies for students based on their individual needs, including specific leveling programs for students who join the school extemporaneously. While it maintains an inclusive approach and complies with national regulations regarding students with special educational needs, it does not provide services for severe physical or emotional cases due to a lack of specialized tools. The school also offers scholarships and partial scholarships starting from the initial level, subject to a family evaluation.

The school follows a structured admission process for new families and transfers, typically requiring pre-registration via its online platform. The Miraflores campus, inaugurated in 1948, provides a mix of traditional and modern facilities designed for safety and comfort. The site includes dedicated spaces for Spielgruppe, initial, primary, and secondary levels, as well as specialized areas for sports, recreation, and theoretical and practical learning. Additionally, the school owns a 100,000 m2 site in Asia, south of Lima, known as Campus Helvetia Nova.

The school maintains an active student life, including participation in the ADCA (Asociación de Colegios Deportivos de Asociaciones) sports championships, such as gymnastics. It also hosts a Big Band and organizes a 'Semana de Proyectos' (Project Week) to foster student engagement and experiential learning.
