Teaching approach
Founded in 1913, the school is dedicated to the mission of developing 'Men of Character from Boys of Promise.' About the campus
Located on a 37-acre campus in midtown Toronto, the school features modern facilities for academics, athletics, and the arts. The campus includes the seven-acre Bob Rumball Centre property, and the school is currently undergoing a major campus improvement project scheduled for completion in the spring of 2026.




Michael FellinHeadmasterMichael Fellin became Crescent School’s 10th Headmaster in 2014, having previously served as the Assistant Head of Upper School. He holds degrees from York University and Regis College, and is a member of the International Boys’ Schools Coalition Board of Trustees.
- Richard ProsserDeputy Headmaster
Rich Prosser was appointed Deputy Headmaster in 2025, following four years as Head of Upper School and four years as Assistant Head. He joined Crescent in 2013 and has extensive experience in teaching English and physical education, as well as presenting on leadership and experiential learning.
- Patricia AlvianoHead of Lower School
Patricia Alviano was appointed Head of Lower School in July 2023, having previously served seven years in the Middle School as Assistant Head and Learning Support Specialist. She holds a Master of Education from Western University and has extensive research and presenting credits in education.
- Ryan BellHead of Middle School
Ryan Bell, a Crescent alumnus and former Head Boy (class of '98), was appointed Head of the Middle School in 2019. He joined the faculty in 2012 and previously served as Assistant Head of the Lower School.
- Ari HunterHead of Upper School
Ari Hunter was appointed Head of Upper School in 2025, after serving as Assistant Head of the Upper School since 2021. He joined Crescent in 2006 and has worked across all three school divisions, including leading the Summer Academic Program.
- Dr. Sandra BoyesExecutive Director, Professional Learning & Research
Dr. Sandra Boyes assumed the role of Executive Director, Professional Learning and Research in fall 2023, having previously served as Head of Lower School from 2011–2023. She has been an educator for 30 years, with over 20 of those at Crescent, and holds an Ed.D. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
- Gina KayExecutive Director of Crescent Student Services
Gina Kay joined Crescent School in 2016 and currently serves as the Executive Director of Crescent Student Services. She previously held leadership roles at The Anne and Max Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto and Montcrest School, and holds a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University.
