Westcoast International Secondary School (WISS) is an English-medium institution committed to providing a challenging, engaging, and internationally-minded education. Programmes

The academic programme is structured into three main stages: Forms 1–3 follow a foundational curriculum (CLS), Forms 4–5 prepare students for IGCSE examinations, and Forms 6–7 culminate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities (History, Geography, Economics, Business), Languages (English and French), IT and Computer Science, and Physical Education. Admissions

The admissions process is facilitated through an online system, requiring an Expression of Interest form, submission of previous school reports, birth certificates, passports, and a recommendation letter. Following the initial application, candidates are invited for entrance assessments. Once accepted, families complete the enrolment process, which includes payment of non-refundable registration and enrolment fees, as well as a refundable deposit. The school also offers a foundation scholarship for less advantaged children from the Black River area based on the Head of School's recommendation.

Calendar

The school operates on a 12-month financial and academic basis. Fees are due monthly by the 3rd of each month, or via termly or annual installments. Termly payments are due by 3 January, 3 May, and 3 September, while annual payments must be settled by 31 December of the preceding school year.

About the campus

Located on Flic en Flac Road in Cascavelle, the campus is adjacent to the Cascavelle Shopping Mall. The facilities include science laboratories, a library, and dedicated IT resources. A multi-purpose hall is planned for the final construction phase to host indoor sports, assemblies, examinations, and creative arts performances.

Co-curriculars

The school offers the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme, which includes expeditions. Students are assigned to Houses and participate in various creative activities, including dramatics, music, and debates. Additionally, the school organises field trips, camping excursions, and various sporting activities.
